I'm a drunk. Six years ago, I was so sick. So tired.
I learned, with the help of other amazing addicts, there is a much better way to live.
Recovery is a beautiful word. Sobriety is a beautiful thing.

I recently participated in a livestream panel with other addiction and mental health experts. What a joy it was to offer hope and help to our viewers! Once it's available for on-demand viewing, I'll update on this site, Twitter and Facebook.
5.0 out of 5 stars The truth about recovery is very complex but this book makes it real and understandable.

This book turned out to be a real education for me. I have family who are alcoholics and I never truly understood what they were thinking and going through. I am so grateful for the clear and concise way this book was written. It is not laden in emotions.
I love this book.
During the pandemic, I began exploring new outlets that are safe, healthy and beneficial. In the process, I re-discovered my love
of abstract painting.
Because I'm running out of wall space (and I would like a good excuse to keep on painting) I decided to offer them for sale.

Recently I've been hearing a lot from
families and friends of addicts, and
I'm hearing a recurring question:
"What can I do to support the addict I love?"
There are so many answers to this. Here's a little something that might help.
One amazing thing you can do (that can benefit both of you) is to share the learning you're doing. Attend an "open" AA or NA meeting together, and discuss it after. Read an article on addiction and family dynamics, and talk about it. Don't hammer the topic. Let your loved one know you don't have all the answers, you can't offer a "quick fix" and they're going to have to do a lot of really hard work. Just remind them you're there to root them on, every step of the way.

Gratitude. Whether you're working on recovery or simply working on living day-to-day, expressing gratitude for all you have—right now—will dramatically alter both your current and future experiences. "Like attracts like." It's based on science, and it works. All you have do to is do it. Thank God. Thank the Universe. Express thanks and gratitude every single day.
See how it changes you. See how it changes everything.
